Hpcsa Registration Number

The HPCSA registration number is a unique identifier issued to healthcare professionals upon successful registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. This number verifies that you are authorized to practice within your specific field in South Africa and comply with the regulations set forth by the HPCSA.

How to register for HPCSA portal

 

  1. Visit www.hpcsa.co.za clicking on the ‘Online registration’ tab in the navigation bar.
  2. Create an HPCSA account by entering your 13-digit ID number or passport number
  3. Using your ID Number as the Username and Password created in step 2, Login and Renew. This also allows you to edit you’re your personal details – see Notes on Practicing Card below.
  4. You can now make your annual payment through Credit or Debit Card or Integrated EFT or Bank Deposit
  5. Access the HPCSA Practising Card – electronically or print out.

 

How to use the HPCSA portal

 

1. Open the HPCSA website at www.hpcsa.co.za – click on Online Renewals

 

 

 

2. Click on Log in or Sign up button

 

3. Practitioners who are already registered on the HPCSA platform can log in using their existing details. Your Username is your ID or passport numbers.

 

4. Please do not create an account as the system has already created accounts for existing (HPCSA registered) practitioners. If for some reason the system can’t recognise your ID, please click on Forgot Username or password, and scroll down to Recover Your Account.

5. If you have forgotten your password, click on the Forgot your username or password link.

 

6. Type your ID or passport number then click on the Reset my Password button.

  • An email or SMS for password reset will be sent to your registered email address or cell phone number with a link.
  • Click on the link. The screen pictured below will be displayed which will enable you to change the password. The email subject name will be Support Account Password Assistance.
  • Please check your email and SMS service.

 

 

7. Upon clicking on the link received via email or sms you will be taken to the password assistance page below. Click on the Reset my password link.

8. Create your password in the Password field and verify your password in the field below. Click the Submit button.

Please ensure your password meets the following requirements:

  • Length: Must have 6 or more characters
  • Special characters: Must contain special characters (!@#$%^&*)
  • Capital letter(s): Must contain at least one capital letter
  • Number(s): Must contain at least one number
  • Here is an example of an acceptable password: @Flower123

 

9. Once logged in, click on your name, and select Account Overview

 

 

 

 

 

11. Check the open invoices, details of the amount due appear on the screen. To pay invoices click Pay Now

 

 

 

 

12. To pay now click the Pay button.

 

 

 

 

13. Populate payment details and click Next to complete the payment. The website URL should be https://secure.paygate.co.za/payweb3/process.trans

 

 

 

 

 

 

14. To view your HPCSA status, click Account Overview then My registrations

 

 

 

 

15. Proof of registrations whose status are ACTIVE can be downloaded by choosing Click Here to Proceed.

 

 

 

 

16. Check your practitioner details as displayed on screen. If the details are correct, choose the Card option at the bottom of the screen to access your practising card.

 

 

 

 

17. To download the digital version of your practising card as displayed below, click on the Print Card option and choose the PDF option to save your document.

 

 

How to Get Your HPCSA Registration Number

  1. Eligibility Requirements: Make sure you meet the minimum qualifications for your profession as set out by the HPCSA. For example, doctors need to complete a recognized medical degree and internship.
  2. Create an Account on the HPCSA Portal: Visit the HPCSA Self-Service Portal and create an account. Here, you’ll submit your documentation and application for registration.
  3. Submit Documentation: You’ll need certified copies of your qualifications, proof of identity, and sometimes additional documentation like internship certificates.
  4. Pay the Registration Fee: Once your documents are in order, you will be required to pay the registration fee. Keep in mind that fees vary depending on your profession.
  5. Wait for Approval: After your application is submitted and fees are paid, the HPCSA will review your credentials. Once approved, you’ll receive your HPCSA registration number.
  6. Receive Your HPCSA Registration Certificate: Once registered, you will be issued a certificate that includes your unique registration number. This certificate is important for your professional records.
