Step-by-step on your phone
- Save the official UIF WhatsApp number: 0800 030 007 (name it “UIF Bot”).
- Open WhatsApp → tap the chat with UIF Bot.
- Type Hi or any greeting and hit send.
- The bot replies with a menu. Reply with the number next to “Check UIF balance” (usually option 2).
- Enter your 13-digit SA ID number when asked.
- Confirm your first name and surname exactly as they appear on your ID.
- Within 30 seconds the bot sends a short message:
“Your current UIF balance is 87 credit days and R0.00 paid to date.”
