Ready to claim UIF benefits from your phone? Activating your UIF account on uFiling takes less than 10 minutes once you know the shortcuts. Follow the steps below; written for South African mobile users and load-shedding-proof.
1. Get connected
- Data-free option: visit m.ufiling.co.za on any Vodacom, MTN, Cell C or Telkom SIM; uFiling is zero-rated.
- Wi-Fi: use the full site www.ufiling.co.za (link loaded slowly earlier; try again if it times out).
2. Tap “Register”
- Choose Individual if you’re a worker.
- Fill in:
• 13-digit SA ID number
• Valid e-mail or WhatsApp number
• New password (12 characters, 1 capital, 1 number)
3. OTP & e-mail verification
- Check SMS or e-mail for the 6-digit OTP.
- Tip: Screenshot it; load-shedding can delay resends.
4. First-time login
- Enter ID number + new password.
- Accept the pop-up T&Cs to reach your Dashboard.
5. Activate the services you need

6. Add your bank details
- Banking Details → Add
- Upload:

7. Final security step (only once)
- uFiling asks for a security question (e.g., “First pet’s name”).
- This protects your profile if you forget your password.
8. Done! What next?
- Green tick = account fully active.
- File your first claim under UIF Benefits or uFiling Mobile App.
