Documents Needed to Claim UIF in South Africa – 2025 Mobile Checklist

Before you tap “Submit” on the uFiling app or visit a Labour Centre, make sure every document below is on your phone or in your hand.

  1. Core documents (must-haves for every claim type)
  • 13-digit SA ID – clear photo or certified copy
  • UI-19 form – issued by your last employer (download from uFiling if they uploaded it)
  • Retrenchment / dismissal / resignation letter – shows last day of work and reason for termination
  • Bank confirmation letter or stamped statement (not older than 3 months) with your account number & branch code
  • Latest IRP5 / IT3(a) – proves UIF contributions
