Step 1: Visit the Santam Client Site
To kick off your claim registration, head over to client.santam.co.za. If you already have an account, simply log in. For new users, you’ll need to register your claims and link your policy to your account. This ensures you have all the necessary information at your fingertips.
How to Register Your Claim
- Navigate to the Policy Page: Once logged in, find the ‘Policy’ page on your dashboard.
- Click on ‘Register Claim’: Here, you’ll see the option to start your claim process.
Step 2: Select the Type of Claim
You’ll be prompted to choose the type of claim you want to register. This can be either a General Claim or a Motor Glass Claim. Make sure to fill in the date of the incident accurately. Once you’re done, hit ‘Register claim’ to proceed.
Step 3: Choose the Items You Want to Claim For
On this page, you’ll find various drop-down menus related to your claim:
- Home Content
- Vehicles
- All Risk
- Personal Liability
Select the item or items you wish to claim for and click ‘Next’.
Step 4: Provide Details About the Event
Next, you’ll need to give us more context about the incident. This includes:
- The time and address of the incident.
- If applicable, select any known catastrophe (like a fire or flood) from the options provided.
- If you reported the event to the police, include your SAP case number.
If you haven’t reported it yet, don’t worry—you can notify us later.
Step 5: Provide Additional Details
Now, it’s time to provide specific details about the item you’re claiming for, including:
- The damage or loss incurred.
- For vehicle claims, details like the driver, the cause of the accident (e.g., pothole or road conditions), and where the vehicle is usually parked.
Complete all mandatory sections, indicated by asterisks (*). If you wish, you can also provide your cell phone number for SMS updates on your claim status.
Step 6: Review and Submit Your Claim
Congratulations! You’re almost done. On the summary page, double-check all the details you’ve entered. Once you’re sure everything is correct, click ‘Save’ to complete your submission. You will receive a claim number via email, and one of our consultants will contact you for any additional documents or information needed.
