If you’ve applied for your PSiRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) registration or certificate, you can easily check the status of your application online or through the PSiRA mobile app. This lets you know if your certificate is ready for collection or if there are any issues with your registration.
Steps to Verify Your PSiRA Status
- Visit the Official PSiRA Website or Open the Mobile App
Go to the official PSiRA website on your computer or phone. Look for the PSiRA logo and welcome message, confirming you’re on the correct site. If using the mobile app, open it and navigate to the online services section. - Navigate to the Verification Section
On a computer, find the “Online Services” sidebar and select “Individual Verification.” On the mobile app, tap “Online Verification,” then choose between “Security Officer Verification” or “Business Status Verification,” depending on your registration type. - Enter Your Details
Fill in your ID number or company name as required, and enter the captcha code carefully. Make sure you enter the captcha correctly to avoid submission errors. - Submit and Check Status
Click or tap the “Submit” button. The system will display your application status, showing whether your certificate is ready for collection or if your details are correctly recorded in the system.
Common Status Messages and What They Mean
- Withdrawn: Your application may have been withdrawn due to a criminal record or unpaid annual fees. Contact PSiRA customer care at 086 133 3850 for assistance.
- Renewal Outstanding/Expired:
- Outstanding means you hold an old certificate that has never been renewed and need to renew it to get the updated certificate with enhanced security features.
- Expired indicates your previously renewed certificate has expired, and you must renew again.

If your surname, gender, or other personal details are incorrect, visit your nearest PSiRA branch with your original green bar-coded South African ID book and a certified copy of your ID to correct the information. - Provisionally Rejected/Re-take:
This status may indicate a temporary rejection due to pending criminal investigations, poor-quality fingerprints (requiring a re-take), or a pending court case. You may need to submit court documents within 90 days. - Appeals:
