ABOUT THE BURSAR

Sector Education and Training Authority or SETA is an industry bodies established in 2000 by the Minister of Labour. SETA is made up of employers, government departments, trade unions and bargaining councils from each industrial sector. There are 23 SETA’s across South Africa, FoodBev SETA being one of them.
FoodBev SETA aims to facilitate and award skills development in the Food and Beverage Manufacturing industry by way of bursary programmes.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

FoodBev SETA are offering bursary awards to full time students who are enrolled in University, studying towards a Master’s degree or PhD within the Food and Beverage Manufacturing industry. The bursary value is up to a maximum of R50 000 and will be awarded to studies in line with critical and scarce skills.
The bursary will cover students studying within the following fields:
UNDERGRADUATE

  • BSc Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics Engineering
  • BSc Food Science/ Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Microbiology
  • BCom/ BCompt in Accounting/Finance
  • B Bus Sc Marketing
  • BSc Oneology
  • Degree in Consumer Science/ Environmental health Science
  • Diploma in Electronics/ Electrical Engineering/ Food Technology/ Mechanical Engineering/ Operation Management/ Packaging Management/ Production Management

 

POST-GRADUATE

  • Advanced Diploma: Labour Relations
  • BCom/ BCompt Hons. in Accounting/Finance (CTA)
  • BSc Hons. Electrical Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering
  • BSc Hons. – Food Science and Technology/ Food Science/ Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Microbiology
  • BTech in Electronics Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics/ Food Technology/ Mechanical Engineering/ Operation Management/ Packaging Management/ Production Management

ELIGIBILITY

The following criteria apply to undergraduate students:

  • Only first year students may apply (proof of registration is required),
  • Must show a strong academic record, as well as a need for financial assistance,
  • Preference will be given to female students, disabled students and students with a previously disadvantage background,
