ABOUT THE COMPANY – KZN DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health, a department of the government of South Africa, is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive and sustainable health system at all levels through the District Health System, and to ensure that all its residents have access to health care.

The departments 5 goals are to improve the quality of health care; reduce the burden of disease; strengthen the effectiveness of the health system; provide universal health coverage and to strengthen human resources for health.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Reside in the KwaZulu-Natal province and from the district area where the field of study is advertised
  • Studying or have applied to study within one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Proven financial need

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE BURSARY

Applications forms must be collected from any Public Hospital/ Clinic/ CHC in KwaZulu-Natal (Human Resource Department).

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Grade 11 final results, if currently in Matric
  • Matric latest results, if currently in Matric
  • Matric certificate, if completed Matric
  • Full tertiary academic record, if studying
  • Proof of application to a tertiary institute
  • Parents/ guardians ID documents (certified copies)
  • Parents/ guardians proof of income

Applications must be delivered to the same hospital (posted applications will NOT be accepted).
